The HCAA is hosting an online CPD session for all members, on Tuesday 21 September (AEDT). The event will take place at 12-1pm and all attendees will receive 1 CPD point for their attendance.

The new addition to AS/NZS3500.2 is Appendix G – Drains in unstable soils. This appendix directly addresses the issue of how plumbing and drainage should be installed in reactive and unstable soils. Topics covered in this presentation include:
· Problems associated with ground movement
· Soil classifications and P class sites
· The impact of moisture to reactive soils
· Measures to prevent moisture from entering under slabs and footings
· Flexible connections. What are they and the installation requirements
· Risk proofing and contributing factors
