Testing and commissioning of domestic water systems requires the installer to perform Hydrostatic testing of the system to 1,500kPa. Throughout testing the system is monitored to ensure that it does not leak over the 30 minute test period. Testing is often performed with a test bucket, analogue pressure measurement gauge, no real time recording of the test progress and a manually record of the test result at conclusion. And the theory of pressurisation of a system says that the pressure will decay even though there are no leaks in the system.
