Joining the HCAA

The HCAA is open to any persons in the hydraulic and fire protection consulting profession involved in the design and documentation of building hydraulic and fire services systems. All membership applications are completed online. To join the HCAA, please select one of the membership packages below

HCAA have made significant inroads to reconciliation with Industry, Governing bodies and other professional associations, recently achieving recognition by the ABCB to sit on the Plumbing Codes Committee and help with the development of the Plumbing code of Australia and also achieving recognition as a professional association with the New South Wales Government Buildings professional Board.

Approval Procedure - Acceptance to the Association is subject to review of the Membership Committee approval. Applications will be forwarded for review upon receipt of the applicable membership fee.

Membership Packages

Full Membership

Full Members shall have a minimum of six (6) years' experience as a hydraulics or fire services designer, and be practicing in the hydraulic or fire services profession. The member shall hold relevant Diploma or equivalent qualifications in this field. The annual cost is $500 (plus GST).

Associate Membership

Associate Members shall be working in a recognised Hydraulic / Fire Consultant’s office as a hydraulic or fire services designer, design drafter or supervisor in the consulting engineering profession. The annual cost is $330 (plus GST).

Allied Membership

Allied Members shall be working in a recognised Hydraulic / Fire Consultant’s office as a hydraulic or fire services designer, design drafter or supervisor in the consulting engineering profession. An Allied member cannot sit within an area that holds regular meetings and should only apply if they live more than 150km from an area that holds regular meetings. The annual cost is $110 (plus GST).

Student Membership

Student membership shall be extended to a student who is currently enrolled in the Diploma of Hydraulic Services course, Diploma of Fire Systems, or equivalent. Join now for free!

Teacher Membership

Shall be a teacher who holds the Diploma of Hydraulic Services or Fire Systems Design or equivalent qualification and have at least six (6) years' part or full time teaching experience. The annual cost is $220 (plus GST).

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate Members are manufacturers of plumbing or allied products whose principals have no financial interest in a plumbing contracting firm. The annual cost is $5000 (plus GST).

Corporate Membership

Shall be a company who must have a Director or Principal who is a Full, Life or Fellow member of the Association. The annual cost is $330 (plus GST).

Industry Partner (Company)

Shall be working in the construction industry in another profession with an interest in Hydraulic & Fire Protection systems, as a consultant (for example Architects, Building Services) or a contractor (for example Plumbers, Hydraulic Installers, Builders). Industry members exclude fire and hydraulic engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers. Annual price is $1000 plus GST

Industry Partner (Individual)

An Industry member shall be working in the construction industry in another profession with an interest in Hydraulic & Fire Protection systems, as a consultant (for example Architects, Building Services) or a contractor (for example Plumbers, Hydraulic Installers, Builders). Industry members exclude fire and hydraulic engineers, manufacturers and suppliers. Annual membership price is $330 plus GST
